About Me
Action >
Yes, I have hobbies, pets, and a favorite food. But that’s not why you’re here.
Having spent more than a decade in both collegiate and corporate settings, I know what works and what doesn’t. What doesn’t? A droning voice over a boring list of bullet points. What does? Real-world, action-oriented instruction woven into a compelling narrative structure that pulls learners into a world that reflects their real lives.
The future of education lies at this intersection: knowledge, technology and design. AI has permanently changed the game. It’s no longer a question of if, or even when—it’s a question of how. How will this technology be utilized? How will it change us? Most importantly: How, in this era of distraction, can we break through our increasingly dopamine deficient brains and make learning content actually stick?
These are the challenges we face in the L&D space (and in our own lives, no less). Education as a whole needs updating; we have the knowledge, we have the tech, we have the tools. Now how do we combine them to make engaging content that improves learners’ lives? That’s the mission.

Work
As a freelance instructional designer, I’ve worked with a small company and a nonprofit organization. I designed the website of Salt of the Earth Halotherapy & Spa, as well as much of their marketing materials and internal documents. See more here.
With Inwater Research Group (IRG), I created an educational experience in the form of a sea turtle’s trials and tribulations as she journeys through her life in the ocean.
I also created eLearning experiences covering hurricane preparation, proper medication disposal, and using AI.

M.A. Cultural Studies
At KHU, I studied cultural studies and critical theory. These topics and concepts help to analyze and understand groups of people and the different social, political, and cultural contexts in which they live, in order to create compelling, real-life educational programs that are engaging and effective.

B.A. English Literature
At FSU, I studied English Literature with a minor in Spanish. As a young man, I craved knowledge and exposure to a variety of life experiences, and literature provided this in spades. The foundation of my lifelong passion at the intersection of education and art.
